Academics at SSCA
We graduate leaders who “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God” (Micah 6:8). The complex skills of leadership are developed by exercising them – so, Micah 6:8 leadership defines the SSCA experience.
In the upper school, students exchange ideas around the Harkness Table; investigate their world through robust lab science classes and A.P. courses; serve near and abroad through Interterm trips; engage their passions through clubs like Students of Color Alliance, National Honor Society, and Robotics; and collaborate in athletics or theater. The senior year culminates in a Senior Capstone and Senior Internship.
In the lower school, students apply their learning in annual Capstone Projects such as a Business Expo or Living Wax Museum; dive into STEM learning in our well-equipped Maker Space; and engage in a World Changer Project that connects their work with needs in the larger community.
“Participating in the internship experience at SSCA gave me an understanding on the purpose of education: to prepare you for your career. This education opportunity is not the end but the foundation for obtaining your career goals.” - SSCA Alumnus
