Admissions Process
Steps to Apply
Thank you for your interest in joining the South Shore Christian Academy community! Please follow the steps below to begin the application process.
Step 1: Inquire
Once you submit your inquiry form, you will be able to schedule a visit and receive up-to-date information on the admissions process.
Step 2: Visit the School
There are a variety of ways to visit our campus — including in-person tours, shadow day with a current student, or an open house event. If you haven't already, submit an inquiry form. Once created, you will be able to sign up for the visit day that works best for you.
Step 3: Submit Application
Once you create a parent account, you will receive instructions via email to create an account on our Admission Portal. From our Portal, you may begin working on your application, submit materials, check on your application's status, and get up-to-date admission information.
Please note that students must be a certain age by September 1 to start school:
Preschool - 2.9 (2 years and 9 months old)
Pre-K - 4 years old
Kindergarten - 5 years old
Step 4: Entrance Testing/Screening
These are used to evaluate students for admission.
Entrance Screening for Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten:
Faculty will do an on-site brief assessment of a child's skills and development.
Entrance Testing for Grades 1-5:
Faculty conduct on-site tests to assess a student's academic level, ability to learn and perform tasks.
Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT): a standardized test for students that measures reading, writing, verbal, and math skills
Entrance Screening for Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten:

Faculty conduct on-site tests to assess a student's academic level, ability to learn and perform tasks.
Entrance Testing for Grades 6-12:
The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE): a test that is administered by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) for admission to independent schools. The test includes five sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Achievement, and an Essay.
Step 5: School Transcript
Fill out the Release of School Records and give to the student's guidance office.
An official document that provides an inventory of courses and grades earned by a student throughout their academic career. Submitting a school transcript is an important component of the enrollment process and is useful when transferring credits to SSCA.
Step 6: Warrior for a Day
*Grades 1-12
SSCA prides itself in being the Warriors. After your student has applied to the school. Their next step is to experience a school day as a Warrior.
This event is from 8:30AM to 12:30PM. The activities include:

- student will participate in interactive classes
- in-person tour
- parent/guardian & student interviews
Step 7: Parent/Guardian & Student Interview
At SSCA we are a community. Interviews give us an opportunity to get to know our prospective students and their families.
Our interviews take place either during the entrance screening for Preschool/Pre-K and kindergarten. The interviews for grades 1-12 take place during Warrior for a Day.
